GPS-Based Web Punch

When employees check in or out via the My Dashboard web portal, EasyTime automatically captures their GPS coordinates (with their browser's permission).

How It Works

  1. Employee clicks Check In or Check Out on My Dashboard
  2. The browser requests location permission (one-time prompt)
  3. If granted, GPS coordinates are recorded alongside the punch
  4. If denied or unavailable, the punch still succeeds — GPS is optional

Where to See GPS Data

  • Attendance Logs (Attendance → Raw Logs tab) — GPS column shows a "GPS" link for web punches with location
  • Who's In Now (Attendance → Who's In tab) — employees who punched via GPS show a small map pin icon on their card; click to view on Google Maps

Privacy

GPS data is stored internally and only visible to HR/Admin roles. Employees are informed by the browser's standard permission prompt.
