Getting Accurate Attendance Reports
Attendance reports (Late, Absent, Overtime, Total Time Card, etc.) are calculated from raw punches plus each employee's assigned Timetable/Shift — a wrong shift assignment is the most common cause of a report "looking wrong".
Checklist Before Trusting a Report
- Every employee has a real Shift assigned — new employees get a Default one automatically, but confirm it matches their actual hours (see the Timetables & Shifts overview article)
- Devices are online and synced — a device sitting offline or in the Unassigned area means punches never arrive at all, which looks identical to "absent" in reports
- Attendance has been processed — raw punches (Logs) only become a Late/Absent/Present Record after processing, which also runs automatically every midnight; use Attendance → Records → Process Attendance to run it on demand for a specific range
- Break time settings match reality — an unconfigured or wrong break duration will over- or under-count worked hours
Where to Look When a Report Looks Wrong
- Attendance → Raw Logs — confirms whether the device actually sent a punch at all
- Attendance → Records — shows the processed daily status per employee, with the reasoning (late minutes, overtime minutes) broken out
- Devices → Sync Conflicts — flags clock/timezone mismatches that can shift punch times
