Setting Employee Basic Salary & Allowances

Basic Salary & Allowances
Basic Salary
Set on each employee's profile (Employees → [employee] → Basic Salary). This is the base figure attendance-ratio deductions and overtime pay are calculated from — it must be set before payroll can calculate correctly for that employee.
Hourly Rate
Used instead of (or alongside) Basic Salary for hourly-paid staff, and as the base figure for overtime pay when a per-hour rate is more accurate than deriving one from a monthly salary.
Allowances
Go to Payroll → Allowances to create reusable allowance templates (Housing, Transport, Meal, etc.), then assign them to individual employees under Payroll → Employee Allowances. Allowances add to gross salary and are shown as a separate line on the payslip.
Deductions (the other side)
Similarly, Payroll → Deductions lets you create reusable deduction templates (e.g. a recurring loan installment) and assign them per employee — these are separate from the automatic late/absence deductions attendance produces.
Where It All Shows Up
Every payroll record breaks down: Basic Salary → + Allowances → + Overtime Pay → − Deductions (late/absence/manual) → Net Salary. Review this breakdown per employee in Payroll → Periods → [period] → Records before approving a period.
